Substitute Josh Umerah scored twice, including an 89th-minute equalizer as Hartlepool United struck back two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw at Mansfield Town.
Second-half goals from George Lapslie and Riley Harbottle had put Mansfield on course for victory, but Umerah reduced the deficit a minute after coming on as a 61st-minute substitute.
The 25-year-old striker then equalized with his fifth goal of the season with a minute remaining.
However, Umerah’s exploits still failed to prevent Pools from equaling a club record of 20 EFL competitions without a win set in 2012.
Previously, visiting keeper Ben Killip made clever saves to deny Stephen McLaughlin twice and Lucas Akins.
The latter also slid over goal from six yards and Stephen Quinn marked a goal for the hosts after a disputed offside flag.
However, Hartlepool threatened in first-half injury time when a 30-yard shot by Euan Murray was pushed against a post by Christy Pym.
But it was Mansfield who would break through six minutes into the second half, when Lapslie kicked in from seven yards out after a cross from Kellan Gordon on the right.
Harbottle then doubled the lead just before the hour and scored his third goal of the season from four yards after a scramble in the penalty area.
Town was in command but three minutes later the Stags centre-back erased his copy with a pathetic back pass that was intercepted by Umerah, who rounded Pym and found the net from a tight angle.
As time went on, Umerah then showed pace and power to break through the right channel and slam the ball past an advancing Pym to salvage a point for Hartlepool.
