Jude Bellingham should make a move to Manchester United his No.1 priority when it comes to leaving Borussia Dortmund, an observer has advised.

The youthful midfielder is one of the most sought-after players in world football. He has played in well over 100 games since leaving Birmingham for Dortmund – and has scored 13 goals too, including six in just 20 Champions League games. And having also established himself in England, it’s incredible to think he’s still only 19 years old.

Therefore, interest in Bellingham seems to be growing by the day. This chase is apparently being led by Liverpool, who are reportedly already in talks over a possible swoop in 2023. And those hopes seem to be bolstered by claims Dortmund is looking for a Reds star to replace him.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side are far from alone in pursuing the teenager. Pep Guardiola seemingly threw his hat in the ring earlier this month after some extremely unflattering comments about the star.

Meanwhile Mondays EuroPaperTalk suggested Bellingham to join Real Madrid next summer.

Wherever he lands, the player is likely to set a new record fee for a UK player. And should he transfer before June 29, he would be the most expensive teenage footballer in football history after Kylian Mbappe.

To that end, it has been claimed that his fee could reach as high as £134m (€150m) – a staggering sum.

That sort of fee could well leave Liverpool out of the equation.

And despite ties to the Merseysiders and Manchester City, former England goalkeeper Ben Foster believes a move to Manchester United would suit Bellingham best.

Jude Bellingham advised signing with Manchester United

“For me personally, I would like to see him at Manchester United,” said Foster Youtube channel.

“I think he would have more success at Manchester United, he would have more responsibility and I think he would enjoy it more there.”

Foster Bellingham has issued a Jack Grealish-style warning ahead of a possible move to the Etihad via Manchester.

“I think he would know that he’s the main man. I worry that if he went to a club like Man City he might just be like that [end up] a bit like Jack Grealish.

“He would just fade away a bit at Manchester City. So I would love him at Manchester United I think he would smash it.

One man who disagrees with such theories is David James. The former Liverpool goalkeeper believes Bellingham has the confidence and personality to take on any big move, wherever it ends up.

“Yes, well, I would say anything in favor of it, Jude Bellingham is exceptional as a player, given his age and everything.” said James. “He is an exceptional talent.

“But more importantly, having interviewed him once, he’s a fantastic character.

“I think again, the idea of just seeing someone’s player status and performances on a football pitch, via video or whatever, you want to know what the person is like.

“In my experience with Jude Bellingham, he’s the kind of character you want to bring to the Liverpool squad. Then you add his ability and you sort of double the power.”

Dortmund is destined to make massive gains

The biggest winners of any move for Bellingham will surely be Dortmund. After signing the player from Birmingham for an initial £25million, they are expected to see their investment quadruple.

But the teenager will leave the Westfalenstadion without any evidence. In the 2020–21 season, he was named VDV Bundesliga Newcomer of the Season before being promoted to Bundesliga Team of the Season in 2021–22.

As a mature midfielder beyond his age, it’s easy to see why he’s such a sought-after man.

All of this serves to strengthen the outstanding business model of the Dortmund company. Players like Erling Haaland, Jadon Sancho, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all provided hugely inflated wins in recent seasons.

However, sporting director Sebastian Kehl insists BVB wants to break this chain with the English star.

“Jude is very happy in the club, he is very committed to us,” said Kehl BT sport. “Hopefully he can stay next season and for a long time. Then we come back to the beginning of the interview, we try to keep our best players.

“Jude is one of them and we try to keep her for as long as possible. But we’ll see what will happen, but not at the moment. We’d like to change policy, but we’re in the market. And we want to keep our best players longer than we have in recent years – that’s impossible [to keep them sometimes].

“We want to play for titles and that’s the most important thing for the players. They want to be at a club that can improve. But in the end money is another issue and England pays a lot more than Germany. We have to renew our philosophy every year.”
