A star in E4’s Married at First Sight UK has been able to marry a stranger on TV despite three of his ex-boyfriends complaining to police about his allegedly abusive behaviour.
George Roberts, 40, married former Britain wife April Banbury after they first met at the altar.
However, three women who had relations with Mr Roberts said they were appalled by his inclusion on the show.
Each of them said they had independently lodged a complaint with the police about Mr Roberts, claiming they were “love bombed” before the relationship became “compelling”.
All three said they raised concerns with Channel 4 after seeing Mr Roberts in trailers for the show.
They said they reported his “abusive, “obsessive” and “manipulative” behavior towards women.

Three of George Roberts’ ex-girlfriends said they had independently lodged complaints with police and claimed they were “love bombed” before the relationship became “compelling”.
A source on the show said they were unaware of the allegations against Mr Roberts before he married Ms Banbury on the TV show.
It’s not clear if filming for the show, including their wedding, was complete when the women raised the issue on Channel 4.
“I am so shocked to see that he has been given a platform on a TV show. I wrote to Married at First Sight. I said I reported him to the police,” one of his exes told The Sun.
“They asked for additional information, which I gave and I never heard back.”
A second ex-partner said they contacted All4, E4 and Married At First Sight directly, saying Mr Roberts was “a known emotional and mental abuser”.

A third ex said he was told it would be investigated after sending the Channel 4 team “everything” they had about Mr Roberts’ alleged abuse.
All three women described being “love bombed” by Mr Roberts, an act that involves showering people with affection before the relationship became “compelling and controlling”.
Mr Roberts, a divorced father of four, married Ms Banbury on the show before honeymooning to the Caribbean.
Over the weekend, Ms Banbury suggested the relationship was over, describing “trauma” from the experience on Instagram.
“The trauma that this show brought about made me reevaluate things,” she wrote.
“I really have, and I’m not ashamed to say I’ve been seeing a therapist since.”
She told The Sun that her head was “spinning” after hearing about the allegations.

Channel 4 told MailOnline: “We work incredibly closely with our production partners to ensure that all cast members of Married at First Sight UK undergo rigorous background and psychological checks, including the most detailed police checks a production can undertake.
“Allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously by Channel 4.”
A spokesman for Mr Roberts told The Sun that the TV star denies the allegations and finds them “deeply disturbing”, adding: “[He] does not condone or behave in any way as abusive.
“These allegations have never been brought to his attention, investigated or followed up by the police for good reason as they are simply not true,” they added.
